1. The Five Directions Framework (五方架構)
While the Three Talismans protect the body, the Five Talismans (五符 — Wǔ Fú) secure the environment. In Liuren Fajiao, commanding the spatial Qi of East, South, West, North, and Center is essential for establishing a safe ritual space, clearing a home or business, or preparing the ground for advanced ceremonies. The Five Talismans are the first environmental magic taught in the lineage, forming the foundation for the Five Thunders (五雷法) practiced at higher degrees.
2. The Five Celestial Emperors (五方天帝)
Each of the Five Directions is presided over by a Celestial Emperor (天帝) who governs that spatial domain. When a practitioner deploys the Five Talismans, they are formally petitioning each Emperor to establish sovereign spiritual authority over that vector.

3. Spatial Deployment Order (佈符次序)
The sequence follows the Generating Cycle (相生 — Xiāng Shēng) of the Five Elements: Wood → Fire → Earth → Metal → Water. This sequence ensures each newly placed talisman is energetically fed by the previous one, building a self-sustaining protective matrix.
- East (Wood 木): Begin at the East — the direction of sunrise and origin. Petition the Green Emperor. Wood generates Fire.
- South (Fire 火): Move to the South — peak Yang, the direction of Heaven's gate. Petition the Red Emperor. Fire generates Earth.
- Center (Earth 土): Return to the center to anchor the axis. Petition the Yellow Emperor. Earth generates Metal.
- West (Metal 金): Move to the West — the direction of completion. Petition the White Emperor. Metal generates Water.
- North (Water 水): End at the North — the direction of deep storage. Petition the Black Emperor. Water generates Wood, completing the cycle.
Warning: Never deploy the Five Talismans in the Controlling Cycle (相剋) sequence. This anti-generative sequence creates internal conflict within the protective matrix.
