十神基础 — The Ten Gods, Mangpai-Style (盲派十神導論)
Before 做功, 歸宿, or 斷事, the 为心易学 course characterises each ten-god through the Mangpai lens: not as fixed personality labels, but as instruments and objectives whose value depends on the work they do. The framing image: 「如果說五行的相生相剋是一個人的骨骼和骨架，那十神呢就相當於是你這個整個人的血肉」 — the five elements are the skeleton; the ten gods are its flesh. Each god is judged by 正/偏, root and 虛透, palace, and above all whether it is doing good or bad work.
印 / 偏印 / 梟神 — Resource and the Owl 生我者
印 (生我者) is protection, learning, credentials, the mother, status, patronage, and standing. 正印 well-used reads as warmth, judgement, and the capacity to plan; 印 over-strong or struck reads as dependence, idleness, face-saving, and living off others. A 偏印 becomes the 梟神 the moment it meets a 食神 — and 梟神奪食 (the owl devouring the food god) is the signature fault: good-used it is sharp intuition and esoteric affinity, bad-used it is cold, suspicious, ruthless. Two remedies dissolve its menace: a 財 that breaks the 梟 (財破梟), or a 比劫 bridge (梟生比劫，比劫生食傷). The course's tell for reading the person: 「印旺者往梟神斷就狠，印弱者就抱怨」 — strong-resource charts turn ruthless, weak-resource ones turn to complaint.
比劫 — Peers as the Body's Instruments 同我者
比肩 (same polarity) and 劫財 (opposite) are hands and feet, siblings, peers, competitors — the body's direct capacity to act. In the branches a 比劫 is 祿 (self-confidence, autonomy); for a yang stem the 劫財 branch is 羊刃, the most extreme such force. The course's couplets carry the doctrine: 「比劫本是無知物，見了銀兩勢必搶」 (peers, left to instinct, grab at money — the rivalry/robbery face), but 「見了食傷勢必歸」 (given a skill to feed, they fall in line and become useful). And 「不見財是好兄弟，鐵哥們；見到財了就是小人」 — without wealth in play they are loyal brothers; once wealth appears they turn into rivals — unless 共根 (a shared root) binds them to joint enterprise. 比劫 directly striking 財 marks the manual labourer or the get-rich-quick gambler, depending on the chart's grade.
財 — Desire and the Capacity to Hold It 我克者
財 (我克者) is what the chart can control: wealth, material desire, the wife (male chart), and affection generally. 正/偏 split by polarity; 偏財 carries the stronger appetite. The course's wealth formula is blunt — 富命 = 財官大 + 體旺: large, rooted, undamaged 財官 plus a body able to seize and hold them. 財 that merely 虛透 is vanity (display without substance); 財 rooted and 做實 is real money or talent. A strong 財官 over a weak body brings wealth in a good cycle that is then lost when the body weakens. Two maxims anchor it: 「鳥為食亡，人為財死」 and the consultation rule that recurs across the course — 「錢財可以投資合夥，但是感情不能合夥」 (wealth can be shared with partners; the marriage it also signifies cannot).
官殺 — Name, and the Two Ways to Handle Power 克我者
官殺 (克我者) is authority, law, career drive, the husband (female chart), the daughter (male), and family/paternal power — 「官代表著名，財代表著利」. 正官 is steady, upright, principled; 七殺 is the wild horse — ambition, force, ruthlessness, command. Virtually-rootless or fully-controlled 官殺 reads as timidity and self-doubt. The course names two good ways to handle power: 印化官殺 (the wisdom combination — authority converted to standing, often 文職, 官印相生) and 食傷制官殺 (the ability combination — authority mastered by control, often 武職/公檢法; 化煞生印 and 煞印相生 rank higher than 化官). The unbreakable condition: the 官殺 force must stay greater than the 制化 force — control or transform it completely and no authority remains. 印化 suits a weak body; 食傷制 suits a strong one, or the work exhausts the chart.
神煞 as Career Image 神煞職象
The course treats 神煞 not as isolated fortune tags but as special 干支 combinations that lend image and temperament to the work, read through whether they fall on the Day Master, the 用神, the 靠山, the 食神, or the 財. The three it weights:
- 魁罡 (壬辰, 庚戌, 庚辰, 戊戌) — 「魁罡為天上的武神」, 「魁罡呢為判官」: as Day Master, decisive, dogged, bold but plain-spoken (勇而少謀); as 靠山, generally prison-averse (戊戌 the reliable earth-mountain).
- 白虎 (庚申, 庚辰; 辛酉 the lesser) — the war-god: martial, capable, severe; as a unit's 用 often the 二把手, and 比劫制財 with a 白虎 財 frequently marks the soldier.
- 青龍 (甲辰, 乙卯, 乙未, 甲寅) — the auspicious dragon: Daoist/faith affinity, resilience in setback, gentle-overcomes-hard. 「走青龍運就是生長的季節的開始，是壞運過去，好運開始」.
