1. The Art of Spiritual Confrontation (靈性對決)

In Liuren Fajiao, Breaking Halls (破館 — Pò Guǎn) is the advanced discipline of neutralizing a hostile Altar or "Spiritual Office" that is actively being used to cause harm. This is the highest-stakes competency of the Sanshanjiao (Three Mountains Teaching), deployed only when all other defensive measures have failed and a hostile ritual operation is verifiably attacking an innocent party.

The term "Hall" (館 — Guǎn) refers to any formally established spiritual office — whether a rival lineage's altar, a self-taught sorcerer's workspace, or an informal shrine that has been weaponized against a client. Breaking the Hall means severing its operating authority: disconnecting it from whatever spiritual mandate sustains it, neutralizing its deployed soldiers and talismans, and preventing the hostile practitioner from re-establishing the operation.

This is not offensive magic — it is Spiritual Enforcement: the Liuren Altar acting as a celestial judicial authority, closing down an operation that has violated the cosmic laws of right conduct (正法 — Zhèng Fǎ). The practitioner who performs Po Guan is not an aggressor but a celestial officer executing an authorized mandate.

2. When Po Guan Is Justified (破館的合法條件)

Not every spiritual conflict justifies Hall Breaking. The Liuren Altar's mandate requires that Po Guan be deployed only under specific verifiable conditions — not on suspicion, rumor, or personal grievance.

Condition Chinese How It Is Verified Who Must Authorize Escalation Level
Active Hostile Ritual Confirmed 確認惡法進行中 Moon Block divination confirming hostile altar action; Guanyin Palm detecting hostile Sha directed at the client; pattern of illness, misfortune, or entity activity consistent with sent Sha Sanshanjiao practitioner — self-authorization within degree mandate Sanshanjiao (standard)
Multiple Failed Defenses 防護多次失效 Iron Plate seal weakening despite renewal; Guardian Soldiers reporting active resistance from a rival entity force; client's protective talismans losing efficacy rapidly Sanshanjiao practitioner with senior review; consultation with shifu recommended Sanshanjiao–Wuleijiao
Direct Identification of the Hostile Source 確認惡源所在 Client provides direct evidence of hostile practitioner's identity; divination confirms the source and its location; the hostile altar's spiritual address can be identified through ritual inquiry Shifu authorization required; Moon Block confirmation from the Ancestral Masters that the action is sanctioned Sanshanjiao (full Po Guan)
Lineage or Altar Under Direct Attack 靈脈受到直接攻擊 The practitioner's own altar is being targeted; the lineage's spiritual soldiers are being interfered with; a hostile entity is actively attacking the practitioner's household during casework Self-authorization — defending the lineage is within any Sanshanjiao practitioner's mandate Wuleijiao preferred; Sanshanjiao authorized

3. Three Methods of Hall Breaking (三種破館法)

Breaking a Hall involves "Breaching" the energetic integrity of the hostile ritual space and disconnecting its operating authority from the celestial mandate that sustains it. Each method targets a different layer of the hostile altar's structure.

Method Chinese Metaphysical Action Degree Required
Po Guan Fu (Breaking Hall Talisman) 破館符 Severing the "Bureaucratic Link" between the hostile altar and its celestial mandate — the talisman carries the Liuren Altar's judicial authority to formally close the hostile office Sanshanjiao+
Five Thunder Shattering (五雷破館) 五雷破館 Direct energetic strike on the "Heart" of the hostile hall — the Thunder Strike's Yang force overloads the hostile altar's Yin-based operations, scattering its accumulated Sha and dissolving the entity-practitioners' working relationship Wuleijiao (Thunder Strike authorization)
Altar Sealing (封館法) 封館法 Establishing a "Void Zone" around the hostile site — Liuren's sealing talismans create an energetic quarantine that prevents the hostile altar from re-establishing its spiritual connections or receiving further entity assistance Sanshanjiao+

4. Lineage Law: Spiritual Rectification (靈脈正法)

Breaking Halls is the most serious application of Spiritual Combat (Dou Fa). It is an act of Rectification (正法 — Zhèng Fǎ) — using the Altar's celestial mandate to nullify a hostile operation that has violated the laws of right ritual conduct.

  • Righteous Execution (正義執行): The practitioner acts as the enforcer of the Liuren Xianshi, removing unauthorized spiritual tools being used to cause harm.
  • Lineage Sovereignty (靈脈主權): The power to break a hall comes from the supreme celestial rank of the Liuren Ancestors, who hold the authority to close the gates of lesser, corrupt, or unauthorized altars. The practitioner is the vehicle of this authority, not its source.
  • Post-Operation Huan Yuan (還願): When the operation is confirmed successful, the practitioner fulfills the associated vow — a ceremony of gratitude at the altar acknowledging the Ancestral Masters' authorization and the Bing Ma's service.
