1. Understanding Form Evil (形煞)
In the Liuren tradition, Form Evil (形煞 — Xíng Shā) refers to physical structures, topographical features, or architectural configurations that create hostile spiritual Qi vectors directed at a home, business, or person. Form Sha is environmental — it arises from the relationship between the structure and its surroundings. It is a Qi pattern — a continuous stream of negative energetic influence arising from the physical geometry of the space.
2. Common Forms of Environmental Sha (形煞大全)
| Sha Type | Chinese | Physical Source | Primary Effects | Liuren Counter-Measure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sharp Corner Sha | 尖角煞 | Corner of a building pointing directly at the main door or window | Aggressive Qi impact; conflict, legal trouble, injury | Snow Mountain Flower Character on the facing glass; Dissolution Talisman posted in the entry |
| T-Junction / Road Rushing Sha | 路沖煞 | Road running directly toward the main door | Rushing Qi destabilizes health and finances; accidents | House Protecting Talisman (鎮宅符) posted at the entry; Sword-Finger seal on the door frame |
| Overhead Beam Sha | 橫樑壓頂 | Structural beam running directly above a bed, desk, or frequently occupied seat | Headaches, oppression of career and health, sleep disturbances | Flower Character drawn on the underside of the beam; Red Rope (紅繩) suspension treatment |
| Mirror Opposing Door | 開門見鏡 | Large mirror directly visible from the main entry | Qi cannot accumulate; wealth disperses; occupants tend to leave | Reposition the mirror; if impossible, post a calming talisman between mirror and door |
| Electric Pole / Tower Sha | 電桿煞 / 鐵塔煞 | High-voltage electrical towers or utility poles directly facing the property | Electromagnetic Sha overlaid with structural Sha; neurological effects, anxiety, insomnia | Five Direction seal of the property; Iron Plate talisman reinforcement for all occupants |
| Temple Facing Sha | 廟宇沖煞 | Main door of a temple directly facing the property | Highly charged Yin spiritual traffic; spirit disturbances | Hutan (壺天) Guardian invocation; Altar Guardians requested to stand watch; full Five Direction seal |
| Funeral Home / Hospital Sha | 殯儀館煞 / 醫院煞 | Adjacent to or directly facing a mortuary or major hospital | Heavy Yin Qi permeation; disease Sha; occupants prone to illness | Monthly Dissolution Talisman renewal; regular Jing Zhai (淨宅) |
| Knife Edge Sha | 刀刃煞 | Long straight road running parallel to the side of the building | Cutting action on the property's flank; health issues; career disruptions | Side-facing Dissolution Talisman; Sword-Finger seal on affected side windows |
3. The Spiritual Fortress Protocol (鎮宅法)
For severe or multiple Form Sha situations, a full Zhen Zhai (鎮宅 — House Anchoring) ceremony is required. Steps: (1) Diagnosis (察事) via incense reading; (2) Space Clearing (淨宅 Jing Zhai); (3) Anchor Installation (鎮宅符安裝); (4) Door and Window Sealing; (5) Guardian Posting (立守門神); (6) Periodic Maintenance annually.
4. Ba Wu Jin Ji and Urban Practicality (百無禁忌都市應用)
True to the Liu Min (Vagabond) roots of the tradition, Form Sha remediation methods are designed for practical, immediate use in urban environments where the practitioner has little control over their surroundings. Physical renovation is often impossible; the Liuren approach works through spiritual authority rather than physical modification.
