Zeng School (曾派)
Zeng Wenchang (曾文辿, 854–916) was Yang Yunsong's primary disciple. After studying under Yang Gong for over a decade, Zeng settled in Sanliao Village (三僚村) in Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province, establishing what became known as 'China's First Feng Shui Village.'
The Sanliao Tradition
Sanliao village has produced generations of imperial geomancers. The Zeng and Liao families (both Yang Gong lineage holders) have practised and taught Feng Shui there for over a thousand years, accumulating an unparalleled repository of verified case studies. The village itself serves as a living textbook — its layout, ancestral halls, and burial sites demonstrate Yang Gong principles in practice.
Key Contributions
- Qing Nang Xu (青囊序): Zeng's preface to the Green Satchel tradition, documenting Yang Gong's teachings in his own words.
- Field Verification Method: The Sanliao tradition emphasises practical field work over theoretical innovation — every principle must be validated through observable outcomes across generations.
- Ancestral Tomb Archives: Centuries of tomb construction and outcome tracking provide empirical evidence for Form and Compass School principles.
