1. The Role of the Public Practitioner (公開法師角色)
At the Sanshanjiao level, the practitioner takes on the responsibility of Public Service (公開法事). This is a threshold milestone in the lineage's progression: the practitioner is no longer simply learning to protect themselves and their immediate household — they are now an authorized representative of the Liuren lineage, capable of performing rituals for individuals, families, organizations, and community groups.
High-visibility work demands both higher technical competence and stricter ethical discipline than private practice.
2. Mandatory Pre-Service Diagnostic Protocol (接案前查事)
Before accepting any public service case, the Sanshanjiao practitioner performs a formal diagnostic (Chá Shì — 察事) at the altar to confirm three essential conditions:
- Case Authorization (案件授權): Moon Block confirmation that the Ancestral Masters authorize intervention in this case.
- Ethical Clearance (倫理核查): The incense reading and Moon Block diagnostic confirm that the client's stated request is genuine.
- Practitioner Readiness (法師準備狀態): The practitioner confirms that their own Fa Li and personal protection are sufficient for the case at hand.
3. Five Categories of Community Service (五種公開法事)
| Service Type | Chinese | Metaphysical Goal | Lineage Protocol | Duration | Degree Required |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| House Cleansing (Jing Zhai) | 淨宅 | Restoring environmental peace by clearing accumulated Sha | Full four-phase Jing Zhai protocol | 2–4 hours for a standard residence | Sanshanjiao+ |
| Business Blessing (商業開光) | 商業開光 | Removing obstacles to prosperity; anchoring beneficial Qi in a commercial space | Space clearing first → Wealth Guardian altar petition → Wen Chang activation | 1–3 hours | Sanshanjiao+ |
| Commemorative Rituals (紀念法事) | 紀念法事 | Honoring the Ancestors; maintaining the community's spiritual connection to the lineage | Leading collective petitions at key dates | Variable | Zhongjiao+ (household); Sanshanjiao (community leadership) |
| Life Transition Rituals (人生過渡法事) | 人生過渡 | Providing spiritual support and protection at major life transitions: weddings, births, deaths | Each transition type has specific protocols | 1–4 hours | Dajiao+ (basic); Sanshanjiao (full ceremony) |
| Crisis Intervention (危機干預) | 危機干預法事 | Responding to acute spiritual crises in the community | Emergency Chá Shì → rapid deployment of appropriate talismans | Immediate response followed by sustained follow-up | Sanshanjiao+ (basic); Wuleijiao (severe cases) |
4. Lineage Professionalism and Ethics (法事倫理規範)
- Righteous Fee Structure (正義收費): Charging fees based on the complexity of the case, the materials required, and the time invested — never based on the client's desperation.
- Vetting Through Chá Shì (查事接案): Using the altar diagnostic to ensure the client's request is ethical and authorized by the Masters before accepting any case.
- Referral When Appropriate (適當轉介): Recognizing when a case exceeds the practitioner's current degree level and referring appropriately to a more senior practitioner.
- Lineage Honor (護持宗脈): Recognizing that every public service interaction either builds or damages the community's trust in the lineage.
