Destiny Integration School (命理派)
The Ming Li Pai represents a synthesis approach that integrates personal destiny analysis (primarily BaZi/Four Pillars) with Feng Shui spatial assessment. Rather than applying universal Feng Shui rules, this school first analyses the individual's birth chart to determine their elemental needs, then customises the spatial recommendations accordingly.
Core Methodology
- Birth Chart Analysis: Calculate the individual's BaZi to determine the Day Master strength and identify the Yong Shen (用神, Useful God) — the element most needed for balance.
- Elemental Mapping: Map the needed elements to specific directions, colours, materials, and spatial arrangements.
- Spatial Customisation: Apply Feng Shui adjustments that specifically enhance the individual's weak elements while moderating excessive ones.
Practical Applications
- Direction Selection: A person whose Yong Shen is Wood benefits from East-facing properties and green colour schemes.
- Room Assignment: Place the individual's primary activity space (bedroom, office) in the sector whose element supports their Yong Shen.
- Material Selection: Choose building materials, furniture, and decorative elements that correspond to the needed elemental quality.
Integration with Other Schools
Ming Li Pai is rarely practised in isolation. It serves as a personalisation layer applied on top of Flying Stars, San He, or Ba Zhai assessments, making universal recommendations individual-specific.
