Ming Gua East-West Four Houses (命卦東西四宅)
This module separates person-based Ming Gua work from house-sitting Ba Zhai. A house can have its own House Gua, but the occupant also has a Life Gua derived from birth year and sex conventions used by the school. The academy goal is to teach when the compass layer is describing the building and when it is describing the person who uses the building.
East Group and West Group
The standard grouping places Kan 1, Zhen 3, Xun 4, and Li 9 in the East Group. Kun 2, Qian 6, Dui 7, and Gen 8 form the West Group; the number 5 is assigned by convention, commonly Kun for male and Gen for female in many Ba Zhai tables. East Group people favor North, South, East, and Southeast. West Group people favor West, Northwest, Southwest, and Northeast.
Eight Wandering Stars by Person
The same eight star names appear in both house and person applications: Sheng Qi, Tian Yi, Yan Nian, Fu Wei, Jue Ming, Wu Gui, Liu Sha, and Huo Hai. For a person-based lesson, these are mapped from the occupant's Ming Gua, then applied to desk direction, bed orientation, work seat, recovery space, and personal room assignment. The strongest practical habit is to pair the person map with actual use: a favorable direction does little if the person never occupies it, and a theoretically weak sector may be harmless if it is storage or rarely disturbed.
When household members differ, avoid absolutist rules. Use the main resident, actual sleeping and working positions, and privacy needs to prioritize adjustments. This keeps Ba Zhai useful without turning a shared home into conflicting one-person prescriptions.
