The 林子玄 Transmission Line (五行派傳承)

The most visible public face of Wuxingpai (五行派) online is the 林子玄說命理 teaching line. 林子玄 presents himself not as a founder but as a transmitter of the method that 鍾榕逸 (鍾老師) 歸納 out of years of case verification and named 五行派. He notes that look-alike books in circulation are not from this line, since the line itself has not yet published — a caution students should keep when sourcing material. This module records what the transmission line adds on top of the founder doctrine: a teaching sequence, a clarified vocabulary for Day-Master strength, and applied reading routines for 合, 官殺, 印, 食傷, 財, and timing. Where the founder layer fixes the doctrine, the lineage layer shows how it is taught and used at the table.

One method, kept separate (不混用)

The line insists 五行派 is not 五行生剋派 — it calls them 完全不同的批命公式 — and that in live reading it does not consult 身強身弱, 格局, 神煞, or 洩 as judgement inputs; those words appear only to contrast with outside schools. So the first instruction to a beginner is to 先將其他批命技術放旁邊. The point is not that other systems are wrong but that mixed formulae corrupt both: a practitioner who knows 陰陽, 天干五合, 地支六合, and 五行生剋 yet 還是不會流通 will still misread, because 流通錯,還是錯. Students may later run the two systems in parallel on the same client and compare feedback, but they should never blend them inside a single judgement.

Teaching sequence: flow first, recent events first (流通優先、近事優先)

The line trains verification before theory. First learn how the five elements 增減變化 under combination and control; then practise on the most recent 流年 and 流月 before attempting 大運, because recent events are the easiest to check against lived experience. This event-first order is the lineage's quality control — a reading is trusted only once its short-range calls have been confirmed (批短,不批長). It also reframes what the method is for: 五行派 resembles divination only in that it asks whether a particular time suits a particular choice, but it remains chart-based flow timing, not 占卜.

Dynamic Day-Master strength, not a fixed label (動態日主強弱)

The line resolves an apparent contradiction. It rejects traditional fixed 身強身弱 as the basis of a lifelong 用神, yet it still speaks of 日主強 / 日主弱 — but only as a dynamic condition: 日主弱 means 官殺 is actually striking the Day Master (日主受剋) in a given 本命, 大運, 流年, or 流月. Because transits move, a natal weakness can 脫困 when a later pillar removes the striker, and a stable chart can enter 日主受剋 when a transit clears the protection. Judgement therefore combines 本命 + 大運 + 流年, with 流年 read as 當下. A worked pattern from the line: a 甲 Day Master pressured by 金 官殺 reads as struck, but a later combination that pulls the 金 away lifts the strike; a clean natal 金生水生木 chain can instead turn dangerous when a 丁 transit forms 丁壬合, drains the 水 bridge, and leaves the 金 to reach the Day Master.

合 as a flow operation, with no transformation (合而不化)

Combination is a live tool, not an automatically good or bad omen, and the line uses 合 strictly as 合而不化不要問我要化什麼. Three teachable rescues recur:

  • 合殺不攻身: a 七殺 about to reach the Day Master can be held by an adjacent 天干五合 (e.g. a 庚 七殺 tied by 乙庚合), so it no longer strikes — 這類的合反為吉.
  • 六合解剋: when one element is controlling another, a 地支六合 can pull one party out of position (e.g. 辰酉合 lifting 辰, or 子丑合 lifting 子), so the injured element is no longer struck.
  • 五合守財: a 財 being broken by control can be protected when a 天干五合 holds the attacking element (e.g. a 戊 wealth under 木剋土 steadied when a 癸 transit forms 戊癸合), and the money picture recovers.

The operating rule behind all three: an element is only injured while both 主角 are present and reachable; remove or tie one, and the injury lapses.

官殺: 正官 and 七殺 both strike the Day Master (官殺等價)

The line treats 正官 and 七殺 as the same controlling element separated only by polarity, and warns against moralising 正官 as benign — 不要再把正官當好人. What matters is the flow: if 官殺 reaches the Day Master with no 印 between them, the chart carries pressure, restriction, disputes, and workplace or relationship strain; if 印 sits between, the pressure converts to 官印相生 and becomes usable. Two checking habits guide the read — 逢官看財 (does 財生官 raise the officer's strength?) and 逢殺看印 (does 印通關 shield the Day Master?). 官殺混雜 is not automatically a flaw; the question is whether it increases an actual strike. Note the polarity detail: 天干 土生金剋木 is a stem-level strike on a 木 Day Master, while a branch only counts as a strike when a branch Day-Master element (such as 寅木) is genuinely present and reached.

印 as protection and prescribed conduct (印:護身與行為)

For this line, 印 is not only a chart symbol; it is the practical mode for protecting the Day Master under 官殺 pressure, the 右邊護法 that 先跑去擋一下官殺 and turns a strike into 官印相生. Its prescribed conduct is 以退為進: slow down, process coolly, study, gather support, apologise first where useful, and avoid head-on confrontation during a 日主受剋 window — boss or examination or bonus pressure is met by enlisting helpers and not acting alone. The line is candid about 印's shadow side too: over-stability, inertia, and reluctance to change. In a woman's relationship reading, where the partner star 官殺 is also the element that controls the self, 印 conduct (listen, encourage, do not 計較) is taught as the lever that lowers conflict.

食傷 as action, skill, and the source of wealth (食傷:行動與錢母)

Because 食傷 is what the Day Master produces, the line teaches it as something that must be acted out你不是花錢,就是花體力,就是花時間. Skill, craft, study, exercise, and creative output drain the Day Master in a useful way and become the 錢母 (mother of money): 食傷生財 only fires when there is real action, since 行動力出不來,食傷就生不了財. 食傷 can also relieve 官殺 pressure, which is why people with 官殺混雜 or a 日主受剋 tendency are often better served by a craft or profession than by a rigid official track — 殺官混雜,乃技藝之流, framed not as a defect but as a route. When 食傷 is itself injured (印剋食傷), the line describes fantasy, overthinking, and difficulty starting, and prescribes a behavioural remedy: write the fantasies down, pick one or two executable goals, build small daily habits, and lower expectations of others.

財: income channel decides what “money luck” means (財:收入管道)

The line reads 財運 by the actual income channel, not by a wealth label. If 財 is present and visible, read it as 財; if 財 is absent or combined away, read 食傷 as the 財源 instead (財不現…就會看財之源). Income type changes the anchor: a fixed-salary or public-office earner is read through 官運 first, because position produces the pay-cheque (薪水是跟著他的官運走), while owners, commission earners, and investors are read through 財. The line collapses 財庫 into the same element as 財 rather than treating 辰戌丑未 as a separate storehouse logic, and treats the bank account or wallet as the practical 庫. A standing caution: even a strong 財運 feels like nothing without a built channel — side work, skill, knowledge, or time-for-money that runs 只進不出.

治運用神 and the moving anchor (治運用神、太極點轉換)

用神 here is explicitly not permanent. The line layers the time frames — 大運 gives a ten-year direction, 流年 picks the actionable window (do not green-light a launch on a good decade without checking the early years), and 流月 refines immediate risk, especially when 財 surfaces in a year or when a calm-looking year hides 日主受剋 months. 治運用神 is the practice of using an element to treat the luck at 大運 / 流年 / 流月 level through three modes — 通關 (bridge a strike), 反克 (counter-control the attacker), and 加旺 (reinforce the needed element). Paired with this is the 太極點 conversion: set the anchor to the element relevant to the question — 財 for money or a man's relationship, 官殺 for work or a woman's relationship, 印 for benefactors, 食傷 for a woman's child affinity — then read that element's strength and injury across 本命, 大運, and 流年. Rising relative to last year means that life area improves; falling means it declines.

Supplementing elements and reading health (補五行與健康)

The line corrects the folk habit of “supplement whatever is missing.” A missing element may simply arrive in a 大運 or 流年, and an abundant element may be combined away or injured and therefore be the very thing to support — 你要補的是你多的這一個. A strong opposing element only harms another when both 主角 are actually on the board. Health is read directly from elemental strength and body position, with 大運 indicating chronic tendencies and 流年 indicating acute ones: 金 the skin, large intestine, and respiratory tract; 木 the limbs, liver and gallbladder, head, bones and tendons; 水 the urinary system, lower back, bladder and ears; 火 the heart, chest, and eyes; 土 the stomach and digestion. Favourable-element imagery (animals and objects) is offered as practical environmental support, never as a substitute for the flow calculation.

Agency over fatalism (機會歸機會,能力歸能力)

The lineage's ethical frame, and the reason it sits comfortably as preparation rather than fortune-telling, is that the chart gives timing and opportunity, not a fixed outcome. The same 八字 yields different scales of result depending on ability, position, skill, network, and available capital — 八字是跟自己做比較, not against a celebrity chart. A good window is short-lived, so capacity must be ready to 接住 it: 開運 is sharpening that capacity before a good run arrives, and 造命 is declining a known loss so a possible setback becomes a break-even. The standing rule is 機會歸機會,能力歸能力 — a favourable 官殺 or 財 shows an opening, but without the skill, language, credentials, or management to receive it, the result stays small.

Folk-risk overlays — auxiliary, not core (民俗風險層)

The line sometimes teaches popular categories — 犯太歲 by 生肖, 卡陰 for water-heavy or unstable-water charts, and macro fire-month heat — but the corpus does not present these as core 五行派 mechanics on a par with flow, 合, 官殺, or 印. They are best framed as auxiliary preparation and reassurance layers (the recommended 安太歲 response is explicitly 讓你的心安一下, and the warnings are 不是絕對). This is a point of soft divergence from the founder line, which sets 太歲 aside; the academy treats it as documented lineage texture, kept separate from the flow calculation and never stated as fixed fate.
