災禍篇 — The Disaster-Reading System (盲派灾祸篇)
Framing note: this module documents a traditional divination school's correspondence system for study and cultural record. The organ, illness, and event correspondences below are the school's own claims, presented to explain its method — they are not medical diagnosis or prediction. The founder himself frames the whole enterprise as weather-forecasting: the value is preparation (趨吉避凶, "carry an umbrella"), not fatalism.
The 为心易学 course devotes its longest run of lessons to 災禍 — the configurations the blind tradition read for illness, imprisonment, traffic accidents, and mishap. It is the part of the art most prized in consultation, because spotting a 牢獄命 or accident pattern at a glance is what marked an expert. The whole series rests on one foundation and then specialises.
The 陰陽五行 Foundation 體質基礎
Before any specific reading, grade the chart's balance. 陰 is metal and water (cold), 陽 is wood and fire (hot), and earth is neutral. A roughly 30/70 imbalance reads as harm to the six relations; a 10/90 imbalance makes the lone minority element a 支衡點 (balance-point) on which the whole life pivots — strike it and the school reads death or imprisonment; bury it in a hidden stem and it reads as chronic depression instead of an acute event. The course draws a second axis: wood–metal–earth events are 'real' (physical — a metal-wood war reads as a traffic accident), while water–fire events are 'unreal' (mental — depression, psychiatric conditions). Each element also carries an organ correspondence read strong-versus-weak (wood/liver-gallbladder, fire/cardiovascular, earth/digestive, metal/lungs-skin-bowel, water/kidney-ear), so an imbalanced element points at a body system. Remediation is by direction and lifestyle — a fire-heavy, water-deficient chart is steered north and toward water-element self-care.
Disease Location by Branch Relation 地支定病
Once the chart is imbalanced, the specific ailment is located by which branch relation is active — the relation tends to manifest most sharply on the already-weakened side. The course teaches three relation-types as three lessons:
- 六合 (combination): each pairing damages a hidden element and names an illness family — 寅亥合 drowns 寅's fire (cardiovascular, fatty liver from the 'soaked wood'); 辰酉合 severs 辰's wood (liver-gallbladder, rheumatism, limb injury); 子丑合 freezes water to sludge (circulation, ascites); 午未合 bakes to ember-earth (gastric heat, skin eruptions); 巳申合 is fire-controls-metal (large intestine, lung); 卯戌合 blocks the pericardium (heart, vessels, skin).
- 六沖 (clash): the meeting of enemies, graded by force. 子午沖 is 心腎不交 (blood pressure, sleep, eyes); 寅申沖 and 卯酉沖 are 金木相戰 read as fractures and traffic accidents; 巳亥沖 is hypertension and cerebral haemorrhage; and 辰戌沖 — the water-vault against the fire-vault, a damp-earth signature — is the school's cancer marker, since carcinogenesis is read as the 濕土/溫土 state where damp earth is warmed.
- 六穿 (harm): the relation Mangpai weights most heavily — 防不勝防, hidden, sudden, and severe. 丑午穿, 酉戌穿, 申亥穿, 子未穿, 寅巳穿, 卯辰穿; here too the earth-meets-fire warming rule recurs as the cancer pattern, with the precise site read from what the damaged earth stores.
The damp-earth-warmed cancer rule is the series' single most repeated principle: cold earth (丑) incubates nothing, scorching earth (戌) sterilises, but earth brought to a tepid, humid middle temperature is where the school reads malignant change.
牢獄 — The Imprisonment Configurations 牢獄命
The most consequential disaster reading, organised by strength. Strong Day Master: 食傷 draining the self then 梟神 devouring that 食傷 (the body that cannot 'discharge'); 比劫-heavy with no outlet or control, running a 比 luck pillar; 一官制群比 where the single controlling officer is itself combined or controlled away; or 劫財 strong against weak 財 in a wealth year. Weak Day Master: heavy 官殺 with no control or transformation (imprisonment for a man, divorce for a woman); 用印 with 財坏印; 一食制群煞 broken by 梟神奪食; wealth too heavy to carry in a wealth year; or a needed 比劫 cut down by an officer. The lesson-71 supplement adds the 陰陽 shortcut: a chart whose 陽 (fire) is feeble against dominant metal-water, especially with 辰/丑 earth dimming the chart's fire (晦火) when that fire is the Day Master's own 體/祿/比/印, reads in the grim trio — disability, imprisonment, or death.
車禍 — Traffic-Accident Probability 車禍篇
The governing principle is 金木相戰 — metal and wood at war by clash or harm (寅申沖, 卯酉沖, 巳亥沖, 辰戌沖, 丑未沖 as vault-wars, plus 寅巳穿, 申亥穿). The more such configurations, the higher the read probability. Direction of collision is read by 體 versus 用: when the injured metal/wood is one's 體, the school reads being struck by another; when it is 用, striking another. Severity is read from 陰陽 imbalance and raw force — an extreme imbalance reads as a fatal '九死一生' accident, a balanced chart as injury proportional to the losing side's weakness. Timing is the year that activates the metal-wood clash or harm — the school's actionable output is caution in those years.
意外之災 — Other Mishaps 意外篇
The closing lesson generalises beyond traffic accidents. 梟神奪食 graded by the 梟:食 force ratio (90:10 reads as a death risk, 70:30 as moderate, 60:40 as mere bumps; year/month locates it on elders, the home palace on the self). 財來壞印 when using 印 (injury type by element: metal-wood → vehicle, earth-on-water or water-fire → bleeding-injury 血光). 官制比 on a weak Day Master (imprisonment plus limb injury; a month-pillar 比 also implicates siblings). 祿被壞 (bodily injury, type by the 祿's element). And 官殺混雜 with 寅 or 申 present, which the school reads as sharper because those branches are 'real/solid' (實體) rather than the more diffuse water-fire. The course closes on a layered worked chart carrying five disaster signals at once, with a memorable refinement: a 寅 rooted in a 未 that 'represents two people' reads the accident as happening only when two are in the car — so the consultation advice is concrete (drive alone, take care with a passenger) rather than fatalistic.
