1. The Tools of the Yikelei (医科类) Degree (醫科法器)

In the final stages of the Liuren Fajiao curriculum, the practitioner is introduced to the specialized tools of the Yikelei (医科类 — Medical Degree). These implements are designed for high-precision diagnostic scanning and the gentle, targeted distribution of healing energy. Unlike the "Heavy Weaponry" of the Thunder path (peach wood sword, ritual drum, thunder implements), these tools focus on Harmonization and Restoration — amplifying the practitioner's sensitivity and precision in healing work rather than their striking power.

The Green Bamboo (青竹 — Qīng Zhú) that gives this degree track its folk name — Qingzhujiao (青竹教) — is the signature implement: living, flexible, hollow, and aligned with the Wood element's upward-moving healing energy. The complete medical implement set, however, contains seven specialized tools, each with a distinct diagnostic or healing function.

2. The Seven Medical Implements (七種醫科法器)

Medical implements bridge the Altar's healing pulse into the patient's physical organs and meridians with a precision that standard talismans alone cannot achieve. Each implement has a specific resonance frequency calibrated to a particular type of healing or diagnostic function.

ImplementChineseElementMetaphysical ActionHealing ObjectiveWhen Used
Green Bamboo Rod (青竹)青竹WoodChanneling Fa Li through the bamboo's hollow center directly into meridian channels; the wood element's upward-moving energy supports healing of Liver, Gallbladder, and upper-body meridians especiallyDirected acupoint work (Section 12); stimulating blocked Wood-element organ function; guiding Fa Water energy to specific channelsDuring active acupoint treatment; diagnostic probing of meridian response
Medical Fan (法扇)法扇Wind/MetalDistributing the Snow Mountain cooling pulse across a broad area of the patient's body; the fan's motion creates a "sweeping" effect that disperses stagnant Heat Sha from the body's surface and Wei Qi (defensive energy) layerFever dispersal; clearing Heat Sha from the body's surface; distributing healing energy evenly when a targeted point approach would be too intenseHigh-fever cases; epidemic Sha clearance; post-acupoint treatment energy distribution
Healing Seal (醫印)醫印EarthAuthorizing the Fa Water energy — stamping the healing petition with the formal lineage seal of the Medical Masters, ensuring the Fa Water or talisman has the full authority of the Yikelei lineage behind its distributionBestowing lineage authority upon herbal preparations and Fa Water; formalizing healing petitions; marking boundaries of the healing spaceBefore beginning any healing session; when authorizing Fa Water for patient consumption
Diagnostic Palm (觀音掌)觀音掌Water/YinThe practitioner's left hand (Yin/receiving hand) is trained through Guanyin Palm cultivation (Section 60) to scan the patient's energy field for "Energetic Dead-Zones" — areas of depleted Qi, blocked meridians, or spiritual intrusion causing illnessIdentifying the spiritual root of chronic illness; locating entity attachment points; detecting meridian blockages that precede physical symptom manifestationDiagnostic phase of every healing session; used before determining which implement to deploy
Duck Egg Absorber (鴨蛋)鴨蛋WaterA live or fresh duck egg held against an affected acupoint to absorb extracted pathogenic Sha; the egg's bounded "Void" interior contains the extracted energy without allowing it to escape back into the environmentDrawing out deep pathogenic Sha from specific acupoints; absorbing disease Qi that has accumulated in a meridian; removing spiritual contamination lodged in the body's Water-element systemsAfter diagnostic scanning identifies a deep Sha accumulation requiring physical extraction
Zhu You Incantation Scroll (祝由符卷)祝由符卷Fire/IntentA written scroll containing the Zhu You healing incantations specific to the patient's condition; read aloud at the patient's bedside or during treatment, the scroll activates the classical healing authority of the Zhu You tradition recognized in the Huang Di Nei JingInvoking the classical medical authority of the Chinese healing tradition; bridging the ritual and medical dimensions of the treatment; addressing conditions with both physical and spiritual root causesDuring major healing sessions; for chronic conditions requiring sustained ritual support over multiple sessions
Medical Fa Water Vessel (醫水器)醫水器WaterA dedicated vessel (traditionally blue or white ceramic) used exclusively for medical-grade Fa Water preparation; the vessel accumulates the healing resonance of repeated use and maintains a permanent low-level connection to the Medical MastersPreparing healing Fa Water with maximum lineage authority; the dedicated vessel amplifies the Fa Water's efficacy compared to using a general-purpose containerEvery session; the vessel is part of the permanent Medical Altar setup

3. Consecration Protocol: Kai Guang (開光程序)

Every medical implement must be formally "Opened" (開光 — Kāi Guāng — literally "Opening the Light") before it can function as a legitimate channel for Medical Master authority. An unconsecrated implement is spiritually inert — it has no connection to the lineage's healing pulse and cannot amplify or transmit Fa Li.

  1. Purification: The new implement is first washed in plain water (symbolic physical purification), then passed through incense smoke at the altar three times (spiritual purification of accumulated manufacturing and transit energies).
  2. Petition: The practitioner presents the implement at the altar, formally petitioning the Medical Masters to "accept" the tool as a legitimate channel for their authority. The implement is described, its intended function explained, and the practitioner's authorization level confirmed.
  3. Sheng Bei Confirmation: Three consecutive Holy Cups (聖聖聖) confirm the Medical Masters' acceptance of the implement. If the altar returns a Clouded Cup, the implement requires further purification or the timing needs to be reconsidered.
  4. Activation: The implement is charged by placing it on the altar for a full lunar period (one month), during which the altar's daily incense and petitions accumulate healing energy within it. For urgent cases, a three-day activation period may be acceptable with explicit altar petition and authorization.
  5. First Use Ceremony: The first use of a newly consecrated implement always includes a formal invocation of the Medical Masters at the beginning of the session — confirming the lineage connection before deploying the new tool.

4. The Responsibility of the Implement (法器責任)

Medical implements are sacred tools that must be maintained with the highest level of Ritual Purity. They are contact points between the practitioner's Fa Li and the patient's living body — any contamination of the implement contaminates the treatment.

  • Post-Case Purification: Tools used for diagnostic scanning (Diagnostic Palm cultivation, bamboo rod, duck egg) must be purified after every case to prevent the absorption of the previous patient's illness Sha. Purification method: Snow Mountain Fa Water rinse for physical implements; Sword-Finger Snow Mountain Flower Character traced over the Diagnostic Palm before the next session.
  • Lineage Anchor Maintenance: These implements should reside on the secondary Altar (Medical Station — a dedicated healing area separate from the main ritual altar) when not in use. Constant proximity to the altar's healing frequency keeps the implements "charged" and aligned with the Medical Masters' pulse; implements stored in ordinary locations gradually lose their resonance.
  • Personal Exclusivity: Medical implements are not shared between practitioners. Each practitioner's implements accumulate their specific cultivation signature and lineage connection over time — sharing them introduces energetic interference. This exclusivity is especially critical for the Diagnostic Palm cultivation, which is body-specific by nature.

By mastering the specialized implements of the Yikelei (医科类) degree, the practitioner ensures that their healing work is both precise and authorized. These tools are the physical extensions of Compassionate Intent — allowing the practitioner to serve as a high-level conduit for the Medical Masters' mercy.
