卦辭
中孚:豚魚吉,利涉大川,利貞。
Inner Truth. Pigs and fishes. Good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water. Perseverance furthers.

象曰:澤上有風,中孚;君子以議獄緩死。
Wind over lake: the image of Inner Truth. Thus the superior man discusses criminal cases in order to delay executions.
Interpretation
詮釋
中孚卦象徵誠信與真誠。風在澤上,誠信感通。應以誠待人,甚至能感化豚魚,慎重判決。
Sincerity and truth. Wind above lake, sincerity penetrates. Should treat people sincerely, can even move pigs and fish, judge carefully.

Nine at the beginning
初九
虞吉,有它不燕。
Preparedness brings good fortune. If there are secret designs, it is disquieting.
誠信專一則吉,有其他圖謀則不安。初始貴在真誠專一。
Sincere and focused brings fortune, having other schemes brings unease. Beginning values sincere focus.
Nine in the second place
九二
鳴鶴在陰,其子和之。我有好爵,吾與爾靡之。
A crane calling in the shade. Its young answers it. I have a good goblet. I will share it with you.
鶴在幽暗處鳴叫,其子應和。我有美酒,願與你共享。誠信感通,聲應氣求。
Crane calling in shade, young responds. I have fine wine, wish to share with you. Sincerity connects, sound responds to spirit.
Six in the third place
六三
得敵,或鼓或罷,或泣或歌。
He finds a comrade. Now he beats the drum, now he stops. Now he sobs, now he sings.
遇到對手,或擊鼓或停止,或哭泣或歌唱。心無定主,情緒搖擺不定。
Meeting opponent, sometimes drums sometimes stops, sometimes cries sometimes sings. Heart without anchor, emotions wavering.
Six in the fourth place
六四
月幾望,馬匹亡,無咎。
The moon nearly at the full. The team horse goes astray. No blame.
月將圓滿,配偶之馬走失,無咎。近於完美但有小失,然無大礙。
Moon nearly full, mate's horse lost, no blame. Near perfection but with small loss, yet no major problem.
Nine in the fifth place
九五
有孚攣如,無咎。
He possesses truth, which links together. No blame.
有誠信緊密連結,無咎。居尊位有誠信,上下團結一心。
Having sincerity tightly connecting, no blame. In high position with sincerity, above and below united as one.
Nine at the top
上九
翰音登於天,貞凶。
Cockcrow penetrating to heaven. Perseverance brings misfortune.
鳴叫聲升到天上,守正凶。虛聲浮誇,華而不實,堅持必凶。
Crowing reaches heaven, correctness brings misfortune. Empty boasting, flashy without substance, persisting brings disaster.
