卦辭
旅:小亨,旅貞吉。
The Wanderer. Success through smallness. Perseverance brings good fortune to the wanderer.

象曰:山上有火,旅;君子以明慎用刑而不留獄。
Fire on the mountain: the image of the Wanderer. Thus the superior man is clear-minded and cautious in imposing penalties, and protracts no lawsuits.
Interpretation
詮釋
旅卦象徵旅行與漂泊。火在山上,暫時停留。客居他鄉,應謙遜守正,不可久留。
Travel and wandering. Fire on mountain, temporary stay. Sojourning away from home, should be humble and correct, cannot stay long.

Six at the beginning
初六
旅瑣瑣,斯其所取災。
If the wanderer busies himself with trivial things, he draws down misfortune upon himself.
旅途中瑣碎計較,這是自取其禍。客居應大度,斤斤計較招災。
Wandering while being petty, this brings disaster on self. Sojourning should be magnanimous, being petty invites calamity.
Six in the second place
六二
旅即次,懷其資,得童僕貞。
The wanderer comes to an inn. He has his property with him. He wins the steadfastness of a young servant.
旅人來到客棧,懷帶資財,得到童僕的忠誠。得中正之位,旅途平安。
Traveler arriving at inn, carrying valuables, gaining servant's loyalty. Attaining balanced position, journey peaceful.
Nine in the third place
九三
旅焚其次,喪其童僕,貞厲。
The wanderer's inn burns down. He loses the steadfastness of his young servant. Danger.
旅舍被燒,失去童僕,守正危險。剛強過度,失所依靠。
Inn burns down, losing servant, correctness dangerous. Excessive firmness, losing support.
Nine in the fourth place
九四
旅於處,得其資斧,我心不快。
The wanderer rests in a shelter. He obtains his property and an ax. My heart is not glad.
旅居於一處,得到資財和斧頭,我心不快。雖得安身但不自在。
Lodging in place, obtaining valuables and ax, my heart unhappy. Though settled but not at ease.
Six in the fifth place
六五
射雉一矢亡,終以譽命。
He shoots a pheasant. It drops with the first arrow. In the end this brings both praise and office.
射野雞一箭即中,最終得到榮譽官職。旅途中展現才華,終獲賞識。
Shooting pheasant hits with one arrow, finally gains honor and position. Showing talent while traveling, finally recognized.

上九
鳥焚其巢,旅人先笑後號咷。喪牛於易,凶。
The bird's nest burns up. The wanderer laughs at first, then must needs lament and weep. Through carelessness he loses his cow. Misfortune.
鳥巢被燒,旅人先笑後哭。在平易處失牛,凶。旅極而驕,樂極生悲。
Bird nest burns, wanderer first laughs then cries. Losing cow on easy ground, misfortune. Extreme wandering breeds arrogance, joy turns to sorrow.
