卦辭
離:利貞,亨。畜牝牛,吉。
The Clinging. Perseverance furthers. It brings success. Care of the cow brings good fortune.

象曰:明兩作,離;大人以繼明照于四方。
That which is bright rises twice: the image of Fire. Thus the great man, by perpetuating this brightness, illumines the four quarters of the world.
Interpretation
詮釋
離卦象徵依附與光明。火上加火,光明燦爛。暗示著需要依附於正道,保持光明磊落,以柔順持守。
Clinging and illumination. Fire upon fire, brilliant light. Suggests need to cling to the right path, maintain clarity and brightness, with gentle perseverance.

Nine at the beginning
初九
履錯然,敬之無咎。
The footprints run crisscross. If one is seriously intent, no blame.
步履交錯,恭敬則無咎。初始雖亂,以敬慎待之可免禍。
Footsteps crisscrossing, with respect brings no blame. Though initially chaotic, treating with reverence avoids disaster.
Six in the second place
六二
黃離,元吉。
Yellow light. Supreme good fortune.
黃色之光,大吉。中正柔順,光明適中,最為吉祥。
Yellow light, great fortune. Central and balanced, gentle brightness, most auspicious.
Nine in the third place
九三
日昃之離,不鼓缶而歌,則大耋之嗟,凶。
In the light of the setting sun, men either beat the pot and sing or loudly bewail the approach of old age. Misfortune.
夕陽之光,不擊缶而歌,則老年嗟嘆,凶。盛極將衰,沉溺悲愁皆不當。
Setting sun's light, neither singing with pots nor lamenting old age, misfortune. Decline after peak, indulging in sorrow is inappropriate.
Nine in the fourth place
九四
突如其來如,焚如,死如,棄如。
Its coming is sudden; it flames up, dies down, is thrown away.
突然而來,如火焚燒,如死亡,如被棄。過於急躁猛烈,不能持久。
Coming suddenly, like flames, like death, like abandonment. Too hasty and fierce, cannot last.
Six in the fifth place
六五
出涕沱若,戚嗟若,吉。
Tears in floods, sighing and lamenting. Good fortune.
涕淚滂沱,憂戚嗟嘆,吉。居高位而憂患,深切反省帶來吉祥。
Tears flowing, grieving and sighing, fortune. High position with worry, deep reflection brings auspiciousness.
Nine at the top
上九
王用出征,有嘉折首,獲匪其醜,無咎。
The king uses him to march forth and chastise. Then it is best to kill the leaders and take captive the followers. No blame.
王者用於征伐,斬殺首惡,俘獲從眾,無咎。懲惡揚善,賞罰分明。
Ruler using for campaign, beheading chief culprits, capturing followers, no blame. Punishing evil and promoting good, clear rewards and punishments.
