卦辭
頤:貞吉。觀頤,自求口實。
The Corners of the Mouth. Perseverance brings good fortune. Pay heed to the providing of nourishment and to what a man seeks to fill his own mouth with.

象曰:山下有雷,頤;君子以慎言語,節飲食。
At the foot of the mountain, thunder: the image of Providing Nourishment. Thus the superior man is careful of his words and temperate in eating and drinking.
Interpretation
詮釋
頤卦象徵頤養與滋養。山下有雷,口頤之象。暗示著謹慎飲食與言語,自養養人,培育德行。
Nourishment and cultivation. Thunder beneath mountain, image of jaws. Suggests caution in food and speech, nourishing self and others, cultivating virtue.

Nine at the beginning
初九
舍爾靈龜,觀我朵頤,凶。
You let your magic tortoise go, and look at me with the corners of your mouth drooping. Misfortune.
捨棄靈龜,看我垂涎,凶。放棄自養能力而羨慕他人,必招禍患。
Abandoning the magic tortoise, enviously watching me, brings misfortune. Giving up self-sufficiency to envy others invites disaster.
Six in the second place
六二
顛頤,拂經,于丘頤,征凶。
Turning to the summit for nourishment, deviating from the path. To continue on brings misfortune.
顛倒頤養,違背常理,依賴高位者供養,征行則凶。失去自主必致禍。
Inverted nourishment, against principles, depending on superiors for sustenance, advancing brings misfortune. Losing independence leads to calamity.
Six in the third place
六三
拂頤,貞凶。十年勿用,無攸利。
Turning away from nourishment. Perseverance brings misfortune. Do not act thus for ten years. Nothing serves to further.
違背頤養之道,守之則凶。十年不可用,無所利。貪欲無度必敗。
Violating the way of nourishment, persisting brings misfortune. Unusable for ten years, nothing benefits. Unlimited greed leads to failure.
Six in the fourth place
六四
顛頤,吉。虎視眈眈,其欲逐逐,無咎。
Turning to the summit for provision of nourishment brings good fortune. Spying about with sharp eyes like a tiger with insatiable craving. No blame.
顛倒頤養,吉。虎視眈眈,慾望追逐,無咎。能養賢者而得助力。
Inverted nourishment brings fortune. Tiger-like vigilance, pursuing goals, no blame. Nourishing the worthy gains support.
Six in the fifth place
六五
拂經,居貞吉,不可涉大川。
Turning away from the path. To remain persevering brings good fortune. One should not cross the great water.
違背常理,安居守正則吉,不可涉險。知自己能力,依賴賢者供養。
Against convention, staying correct brings fortune, must not take risks. Knowing one's limits, depending on worthy support.
Nine at the top
上九
由頤,厲吉,利涉大川。
The source of nourishment. Awareness of danger brings good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water.
源頭頤養,雖危則吉,利涉大川。擔負養育眾人之責,功德圓滿。
Source of nourishment, though dangerous brings fortune, favorable to cross great waters. Bearing responsibility for nourishing all, merit complete.
