卦辭
隨：元亨利貞，無咎。
Following has supreme success. Perseverance furthers. No blame.

象傳
象曰：澤中有雷，隨；君子以嚮晦入宴息。
Thunder in the middle of the lake: the image of Following. Thus the superior man at nightfall goes indoors for rest and recuperation.
Interpretation
詮釋
隨卦象徵順應與追隨。雷入澤中，陽順陰。暗示著應順應時勢，追隨賢者，但也要保持原則而非盲從。
Following and adapting. Thunder within the lake. Suggests following the times and wise leaders, but maintaining principles rather than blind obedience.

Nine at the beginning
初九
官有渝，貞吉。出門交有功。
The standard is changing. Perseverance brings good fortune. Going out of the door in company produces deeds.
情況改變，守正則吉。出門交往有功效。順應變化而行動。
Circumstances change, maintaining correctness brings fortune. Going out and interacting brings results. Adapt to change and act.
Six in the second place
六二
係小子，失丈夫。
If one clings to the little boy, one loses the strong man.
依附小人，失去君子。應擇善而從，不可隨錯對象。
Clinging to inferior people, one loses the superior man. Choose wisely whom to follow.
Six in the third place
六三
係丈夫，失小子。隨有求得，利居貞。
If one clings to the strong man, one loses the little boy. Through following one finds what one seeks. It furthers one to remain persevering.
追隨君子，捨棄小人。追隨正道有所得，宜守正。
Following the superior man, abandoning inferior people. Following the right path brings gain. Remain correct.
Nine in the fourth place
九四
隨有獲，貞凶。有孚在道，以明，何咎。
Following creates success. Perseverance brings misfortune. To go one's way with sincerity brings clarity. How could this be a mistake?
追隨有所得，但固執守舊則凶。誠信處於正道，明智無咎。
Following brings gain, but stubborn persistence brings misfortune. Sincerity on the right path with clarity brings no blame.
Nine in the fifth place
九五
孚於嘉，吉。
Sincere in the good. Good fortune.
誠信於美善，吉。追隨善道，以誠相待。
Sincere in goodness brings fortune. Following the good path with sincerity.
Six at the top
上六
拘係之，乃從維之。王用亨於西山。
He meets with firm allegiance and is still further bound. The king introduces him to the Western Mountain.
緊密追隨，進而被束縛。王者於西山祭祀祖先。至誠追隨達最高境界。
Close following leads to binding. The king makes offerings at the Western Mountain. Ultimate devotion reaches the highest realm.
