卦辭

豫:利建侯行師。

Enthusiasm. It furthers one to install helpers and to set armies in marching.

象傳

象曰:雷出地奮,豫。先王以作樂崇德,殷薦之上帝,以配祖考。

Thunder comes resounding out of the earth: the image of Enthusiasm. Thus the ancient kings made music in order to honor merit.


Interpretation

詮釋

豫卦象徵歡愉與預備。雷出於地,生機勃發。暗示著充滿熱情,適合開展行動,但也要預防沉溺於享樂。

Enthusiasm and preparation. Thunder echoing from the earth. Suggests a time for joyous action and inspiration, but cautions against complacency.

Six at the beginning

初六

鳴豫,凶。

Enthusiasm that expresses itself brings misfortune.

鳴叫自誇其豫樂,凶。過度張揚招致禍患。

Boasting about one's enthusiasm brings misfortune. Excessive display invites disaster.

Six in the second place

六二

介于石,不終日,貞吉。

Firm as a rock. Not a whole day. Perseverance brings good fortune.

堅如磐石,不待終日即知機變,守正則吉。警覺而不沉溺。

Firm as a rock, knowing when to change before day's end, maintaining correctness brings fortune. Alert and not indulgent.

Six in the third place

六三

盱豫,悔,遲有悔。

Enthusiasm that looks upward creates remorse. Hesitation brings remorse.

仰望他人之豫而依附,悔。遲疑不決也悔。應及時自主。

Looking up to others' joy and depending on them brings regret. Hesitation also brings regret. Should act independently.

Nine in the fourth place

九四

由豫,大有得,勿疑,朋盍簪。

The source of enthusiasm. He achieves great things. Doubt not. Friends gather around him.

由於豫樂而大有所得,勿疑。朋友聚集如簪。領袖魅力凝聚眾人。

Through enthusiasm achieve greatly, no doubt. Friends gather like hairpins. Leadership charisma unites people.

Six in the fifth place

六五

貞疾,恆不死。

Persistently ill, and still does not die.

守正但有疾患,恆久而不死。處困境但能堅持。

Maintaining correctness despite illness, endures without dying. In difficulty but persevering.

Six at the top

上六

冥豫,成有渝,無咎。

Deluded enthusiasm. But if after completion one changes, there is no blame.

昏昧於豫樂,若能改變則無咎。覺悟回頭尚不遲。

Deluded by pleasure, but if one can change there's no blame. Awakening and turning back is not too late.
