卦辭

履:履虎尾,不咥人,亨。

Treading. Treading upon the tail of the tiger. It does not bite the man. Success.

象傳

象曰:上天下澤,履;君子以辨上下,安民志。

Heaven above, the lake below: the image of Treading. Thus the superior man discriminates between high and low, and thereby fortifies the thinking of the people.


Interpretation

詮釋

履卦象徵履行、實踐與禮儀。踩在虎尾上卻不被咬,暗示著處於危險中但只要循禮而行,便能化險為夷。

Treading carefully and conducting oneself properly. Walking on a tiger's tail without being bitten suggests navigating danger through proper conduct.

初九

素履,往無咎。

Simple conduct. Progress without blame.

樸素地履行本分,前進無咎。保持純樸作風即可。

Simply fulfilling one's duties brings blameless progress. Maintain a plain and honest manner.

Nine in the second place

九二

履道坦坦,幽人貞吉。

Treading a level, easy path. The perseverance of a solitary man brings good fortune.

行走在平坦的道路上,隱居者守正則吉。安於平淡生活。

Walking a smooth path, the recluse maintaining correctness brings fortune. Content with a simple life.

Six in the third place

六三

眇能視,跛能履,履虎尾,咥人,凶。武人為于大君。

A one-eyed man is able to see, a lame man to tread. He treads on the tail of the tiger. The tiger bites the man. Misfortune.

瞎眼強視,跛腳強行,踩虎尾被咬,凶。無能力卻強為必招禍。

The one-eyed trying to see clearly, the lame trying to walk firmly, stepping on the tiger's tail gets bitten. Acting beyond one's ability invites disaster.

Nine in the fourth place

九四

履虎尾,愬愬,終吉。

He treads on the tail of the tiger. Caution and circumspection lead ultimately to good fortune.

踩虎尾但戰戰兢兢,謹慎小心終得吉祥。警覺則安全。

Treading on the tiger's tail with great caution and vigilance ultimately brings fortune. Alertness ensures safety.

Nine in the fifth place

九五

夬履,貞厲。

Resolute conduct. Perseverance with awareness of danger.

果決地履行,但需守正並警覺危險。剛毅需配合謹慎。

Acting with determination, but remain correct and aware of danger. Firmness must be paired with caution.

Nine at the top

上九

視履考祥,其旋元吉。

Look to your conduct and weigh the favorable signs. When everything is fulfilled, supreme good fortune comes.

審視自己的行為考察其結果,若能圓滿則大吉。反省帶來完美。

Examine your conduct and assess its outcomes. If all is complete, supreme fortune arrives. Reflection brings perfection.
