Magic & Siddhis
神通修法 · Rdzu ʼphrul
The psychic and magical dimension of Vajrayāna — accomplished through rigorous meditation and tantric practice, not sought as goals in themselves.
Siddhis (Tib: Dngos grub, “accomplishments”) arise as by-products of deep meditative realisation in Vajrayāna practice. Tibetan masters consistently caution against pursuing them as goals — the classical teaching is that siddhis appear when one stops seeking them. The magical practices here operate within an ethical framework: they are used for the protection and flourishing of beings, never for personal power or harm to others.
