Capstone: Building a Complete QZSY Practice (總整合:建立完整七政四餘實務)
This final module synthesizes all four tiers of the QZSY curriculum — Foundations, Practitioner, Professional, and Mastery — into a coherent framework for building a complete, sustainable practice. The goal is not merely technical competence but the development of a personal interpretive voice that draws on classical methods while remaining alive to contemporary needs and insights.
Curriculum Review — The Four Tiers
| Tier | Focus | Key Competencies |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Foundations (Core) | System structure and vocabulary | Seven Governors, Four Remainders, 28 Mansions, 12 Ci, 12 Houses, Chart Construction, Five Elements, GanZhi Integration, Classical Texts |
| 2. Practitioner (Advanced) | Interpretive techniques | Dignities, Aspects, Four Transformations, Configurations, Natal Interpretation, Relationship/Health/Career Analysis, System Comparisons, Special Conditions |
| 3. Professional (Methodology) | Timing and application | Da Xian/Xiao Xian, Liu Nian/Liu Yue, Electional, Mundane, Rectification, Classical Deep Study, Multi-System Integration, Professional Practice, Software |
| 4. Mastery (Reference) | Research and synthesis | Cross-System Comparison, Historical Transmission, Computational Astronomy, Modern Revival, Ritual Context, Research Epistemology |
Building a Personal Interpretive Framework
No two QZSY practitioners interpret charts identically. As you progress through the curriculum, you will naturally develop preferences and emphases:
- Some practitioners prioritize dignity analysis — for them, the planet's condition is paramount, and aspects are secondary.
- Some prioritize configuration recognition — they scan for named patterns first and build the reading around them.
- Some prioritize Five Element balance — they assess the overall elemental picture before examining individual planets.
- Some prioritize timing — they focus on when natal potentials will activate rather than what they are.
All approaches are valid. The key is to develop a consistent methodology that produces reliable, coherent readings. Over time, refine your approach based on which methods produce the most accurate and useful insights in your experience.
Ongoing Study Plan
- Read one classical text per quarter: Cycle through the Guo Lao Xing Zong, Xing Xue Da Cheng, Tian Bu Zhen Yuan, and Xing Ming Zong Kuo.
- Maintain a chart portfolio: Document every chart you read — the data, your interpretation, and (when possible) the life outcomes you can later verify. This portfolio is your primary research tool and the basis for refining your methodology.
- Practice cross-system analysis: For every QZSY chart, also construct the BaZi and (if skilled) the ZWDS chart. Compare insights. Over time, you will develop an intuitive sense of where each system is strongest.
- Study at least one foreign system: Western or Vedic astrology training will deepen your understanding of QZSY by providing contrasting perspectives on the same celestial reality.
- Engage with the community: Attend conferences, participate in study groups, and share your research. QZSY is reviving — be part of the revival.
Connecting to the Five Arts Curriculum
QZSY does not exist in isolation. Within the broader Five Arts (五術) framework of this platform:
- Mountain (山): QZSY's contemplative observation of celestial cycles is a form of cultivation.
- Medicine (醫): QZSY health analysis complements Medical BaZi and Chinese medical diagnostics.
- Destiny (命): QZSY sits alongside BaZi and ZWDS as the third major Chinese destiny system — the most astronomically rigorous of the three.
- Divination (卜): QZSY's electional and mundane branches connect to QMDJ and Liu Ren timing methods.
- Physiognomy (相): QZSY's Fen Ye system historically connected celestial observation to Feng Shui's terrestrial assessment.
Mastering QZSY enriches your practice of every other art. The sky is the common reference frame for all Chinese metaphysical systems — QZSY teaches you to read it directly.
