卦辭
蒙：亨。匪我求童蒙，童蒙求我。
Youthful Folly has success. It is not I who seek the young fool; the young fool seeks me.

象曰：山下出泉，蒙；君子以果行育德。
A spring gushes forth from the mountain: the image of Youth. Thus the superior man fosters his character by thoroughness in all that he does.
Interpretation
詮釋
蒙卦象徵啟蒙與教育。暗示著處於無知或疑惑狀態，需要尋求智者的指導，並培養果斷的行動。
Enlightenment and education. Indicates a state of ignorance or confusion, requiring guidance from a wise teacher and the cultivation of character.

Six at the beginning
初六
發蒙，利用刑人，用說桎梏，以往吝。
To develop the youthful fool. It furthers one to apply discipline. The fetters should be removed. To go on in this way brings humiliation.
開啟蒙昧需要紀律教化，解除束縛。但過度懲罰反而有害。
Enlightening ignorance requires discipline and removing restrictions. However, excessive punishment is counterproductive.
Nine in the second place
九二
包蒙吉，納婦吉，子克家。
To bear with the foolish in kindness brings good fortune. To know how to take women brings good fortune. The son is capable of taking charge of the household.
寬容蒙昧者為吉，納妻成家為吉。子能承擔家業。
Being tolerant of the ignorant brings fortune. Taking a wife brings fortune. The son is capable of managing the household.
Six in the third place
六三
勿用取女，見金夫，不有躬，無攸利。
Take not a maiden who, when she sees a man of bronze, loses possession of herself. Nothing furthers.
不宜娶此女，見財而失身。無主見者不可依靠。
Do not marry someone who loses herself at the sight of wealth. One without principles cannot be relied upon.

六四
困蒙，吝。
Entangled folly brings humiliation.
困於蒙昧無法自拔，可鄙。遠離實際而陷入空想。
Trapped in ignorance with no way out is regrettable. Detached from reality and lost in fantasy.
Six in the fifth place
六五
童蒙，吉。
Childlike folly brings good fortune.
童稚般的蒙昧，謙虛受教，吉祥。保持純真好學之心。
Childlike innocence, humble and teachable, brings fortune. Maintain a pure and eager-to-learn heart.
Nine at the top
上九
擊蒙，不利為寇，利禦寇。
In punishing folly it does not further one to commit transgressions. The only thing that furthers is to prevent transgressions.
懲治蒙昧，不利於主動攻擊，但利於防禦。教育應以預防為主。
In correcting ignorance, aggression is unfavorable, but defense is favorable. Education should focus on prevention.
