大壯:利貞。
The Power of the Great. Perseverance furthers.

象傳
象曰:雷在天上,大壯;君子以非禮弗履。
Thunder in heaven above: the image of the Power of the Great. Thus the superior man does not tread upon paths that do not accord with established order.
Interpretation
詮釋
大壯卦象徵強盛的力量。陽剛強盛,但應守正而行,不可恣意妄為。
Great vigor and power. Yang force is strong, but one must act correctly, not recklessly or arbitrarily.

Nine at the beginning
初九
壯於趾,征凶,有孚。
Power in the toes. Continuing brings misfortune. This is certainly true.
力壯於足趾,前進則凶,確實如此。位卑而躁進必敗。
Power in the toes, advancing brings misfortune, certainly true. Low position with rashness inevitably fails.
Nine in the second place
九二
貞吉。
Perseverance brings good fortune.
守正則吉。得中正之道,力量用於正途則吉祥。
Correctness brings fortune. Attaining the balanced path, power used righteously brings fortune.
Nine in the third place
九三
小人用壯,君子用罔,貞厲。羝羊觸藩,羸其角。
The inferior man works through power. The superior man does not act thus. To continue is dangerous. A goat butts against a hedge and gets its horns entangled.
小人用強,君子不為,守之危險。公羊觸籬笆,角被纏住。逞強必困。
The petty use force, the noble do not, persisting is dangerous. Ram butts the fence, horns get stuck. Showing off strength leads to trouble.
Nine in the fourth place
九四
貞吉悔亡,藩決不羸,壯於大輿之輹。
Perseverance brings good fortune. Remorse disappears. The hedge opens; there is no entanglement. Power depends upon the axle of a big cart.
守正吉祥悔恨消失,籬笆破開不被纏繞,力量壯於大車軸上。剛柔並濟得其所。
Correctness brings fortune, regret vanishes, fence breaks open without entanglement, power strong at the great cart's axle. Firmness and flexibility harmonized.
Six in the fifth place
六五
喪羊於易,無悔。
Loses the goat with ease. No remorse.
在平易之地失羊,無悔。以柔居尊位,放棄逞強反得安寧。
Loses the ram on easy ground, no regret. Soft in high position, abandoning forcefulness brings peace.
Six at the top
上六
羝羊觸藩,不能退,不能遂,無攸利,艱則吉。
A goat butts against a hedge. It cannot go backward, it cannot go forward. Nothing serves to further. If one notes the difficulty, this brings good fortune.
公羊觸籬笆,不能退也不能進,無所利。認識到艱難則吉。極壯反困,知難而退方得解脫。
Ram butts fence, cannot retreat or advance, nothing benefits. Recognizing difficulty brings fortune. Extreme strength leads to entrapment, knowing when to stop brings liberation.
