Qiong Tong Bao Jian (窮通寶鑒, Treasured Mirror of Prosperity and Adversity), also known as Lan Jiang Wang (欄江網), is the definitive classical source for Tiao Hou (調候, Seasonal Adjustment) theory in BaZi. Organised by Day Master (ten Heavenly Stems) and month of birth (twelve months), it specifies the exact Useful Gods (用神) required to balance the chart's seasonal Qi for each combination. Xu Lewu's Republic-era annotation vastly expanded the practical application commentary.

窮通寶鑒(又名欄江網)是八字調候理論的權威古典文獻。以天干日主(十天干)與出生月份(十二月)為綱,詳列每種組合所需的調候用神,以平衡命局的季節氣場。徐樂吾的民國增註大幅擴展了實務應用詮釋。

The BaZi Calculator's Tiao Hou (seasonal adjustment) Useful God recommendations are derived directly from the Qiong Tong Bao Jian lookup tables (stored in `tiahou_table.json`, itself sourced from this text). When a chart shows extreme seasonal imbalance — a Water Day Master born in the height of summer, or a Fire Day Master born in deep winter — this text provides the classical authority for the recommended corrective element.

論甲木

甲木總論 General Theory of Jia Wood

甲木為參天大樹,棟樑之材。其性堅直,喜陽光雨露滋養。甲木生於春令,得時得令,如大樹逢春,枝繁葉茂。此時以癸水滋養為先,丙火照暖為輔。若春甲無癸,如旱地之木,雖有根基而難以生發。

春月甲木 Spring Jia Wood

正月甲木,初春尚寒,木氣雖旺而寒氣未退。宜先用丙火解凍,次取癸水潤木。丙癸兩透天干,定主科甲登第。若只見丙而無癸,雖有溫暖而缺滋潤,為「枯木逢春」之象,富而不貴。二月甲木,陽氣漸升,木勢繁盛,宜用庚金修剪枝葉,使其成器。庚金透出,如良匠施刀,大器可成。三月甲木,暮春之時,木氣將洩,仍需癸水養根,丙火護體。

夏月甲木 Summer Jia Wood

四月甲木,初夏炎熱,木性漸燥。急需癸水解渴,壬水亦可。若無水潤,甲木焦枯,縱有才華而難以施展。五月甲木,烈日當空,木火通明之象。若火勢太旺,宜取壬癸制火,庚金劈木引水。六月甲木,未土當令,濕熱交蒸,宜先取癸水,次用丁火。

秋月甲木 Autumn Jia Wood

乙木為花草藤蔓,柔弱依附。與甲木不同,乙木喜溫暖潤澤,不耐嚴寒。乙木之性柔順,善於攀附,遇強則靠,逢弱則纏。在命理中,乙木人性格溫和、適應力強,但獨立性不足。

春月乙木 Spring Yi Wood

正月乙木,初春寒氣未退,花草嫩芽初發。宜先用丙火暖育,癸水滋潤。丙癸並透,如春園花開,秀麗可觀。二月乙木,木氣正旺,百花盛開。乙木得令不需太多生扶,宜取丙火為用,使花色鮮豔。若見庚金合乙,名為「乙庚合金」,化為貴格。三月乙木,暮春花將謝,需癸水續命,丙火維溫。

丙火總論 General Theory of Bing Fire

丙火為太陽之火,光明普照,溫暖萬物。丙火之性猛烈而不藏私,普照天下而不偏不倚。丙火最喜壬水為用——太陽照湖,波光粼粼,名為「水輝映日」,是大貴之格。丙火忌見己土晦光,如日被雲遮,才華不得展現。

春月丙火 Spring Bing Fire

正月丙火,寅月木旺生火,丙火得助。宜用壬水為制,既制火勢過旺,又成「水火既濟」之美。二月丙火,卯月木旺,火勢漸強。仍以壬水為先,庚金為輔(劈木引水)。三月丙火,辰月土旺洩火,火力漸弱。宜用甲木生火,壬水制火成格。

己土為田園沃土,花圃泥壤。與戊土的高山不同,己土低窪而肥沃,善於養育萬物。己土最喜丙火暖照和癸水滋潤——如春天的花園,陽光和雨水缺一不可。己土亦需甲木培植其中,以增生機。但己土忌見太多水——水多則泥濘不堪,反失其養育之功。

庚金為粗獷之金,斧鉞之器,礦石之原。其性剛毅肅殺,如秋天的蕭瑟之氣。庚金最喜丁火鍛煉——「丁火煉庚」是成器之道,如生鐵經鍛打成為精鋼利器。庚金亦需壬水淬火——鍛造後入水淬煉,方能堅硬無比。因此庚金以丁火為第一用神,壬水為第二用神。

調候與格局的關係 Tiao Hou and Formation

調候用神與格局用神有時一致,有時矛盾。當兩者一致時,格局最美,富貴可期。當兩者衝突時,一般以調候為先——因為「寒木不生花」,若連基本的生存條件都不滿足,格局再美也是虛設。但徐樂吾先生亦指出,若調候用神無力而格局用神有力,亦可成格——關鍵在於整體配合。
