卦辭
震：亨。震來虩虩，笑言啞啞。震驚百里，不喪匕鬯。
Shock brings success. Shock comes - oh, oh! Laughing words - ha, ha! The shock terrifies for a hundred miles, and he does not let fall the sacrificial spoon and chalice.

象傳
象曰：洊雷，震；君子以恐懼修省。
Thunder repeated: the image of Shock. Thus in fear and trembling the superior man sets his life in order and examines himself.
Interpretation
詮釋
震卦象徵震動與驚懼。重雷震撼，天地皆動。應因驚而懼，因懼而省，修身自律。
Shock and arousal. Repeated thunder shakes, heaven and earth move. Should be startled into fear, from fear into reflection, cultivating self-discipline.

Nine at the beginning
初九
震來虩虩，後笑言啞啞，吉。
Shock comes - oh, oh! Then follow laughing words - ha, ha! Good fortune.
雷震來時驚恐，之後談笑自若，吉。初驚能警醒自省，終得吉祥。
Thunder shock comes with fear, afterwards laughing calmly, fortune. Initial shock brings alertness and reflection, finally gains fortune.
Six in the second place
六二
震來厲，億喪貝，躋於九陵，勿逐，七日得。
Shock comes bringing danger. A hundred thousand times you lose your treasures and must climb the nine hills. Do not go in pursuit of them. After seven days you will get them back again.
雷震來襲危險，損失財物，登上九重山，勿追尋，七日後復得。暫時損失不追究，時候到自會恢復。
Thunder shock brings danger, losing valuables, climbing nine hills, don't pursue, recover after seven days. Temporary losses don't chase, in time will naturally recover.
Six in the third place
六三
震蘇蘇，震行無眚。
Shock comes and makes one distraught. If shock spurs to action, one remains free of misfortune.
震動使人煩躁不安，因震而行動則無災。保持警覺而行，可避禍患。
Shock makes one agitated, acting due to shock brings no disaster. Staying alert while acting, can avoid calamity.
Nine in the fourth place
九四
震遂泥。
Shock is mired.
震而陷入泥濘。受驚後陷入困境，無法自拔。
Shocked and mired in mud. After being startled falls into predicament, cannot extricate self.
Six in the fifth place
六五
震往來厲，億無喪，有事。
Shock goes hither and thither. Danger. However, nothing at all is lost. Yet there are things to be done.
震動往來危險，但無損失，有事要做。居尊位應對震盪，雖危但能守住根本。
Shock coming and going dangerous, but no loss, matters to attend. In high position handling shock, though dangerous can hold onto fundamentals.
Six at the top
上六
震索索，視矍矍，征凶。震不於其躬，於其鄰，無咎。婚媾有言。
Shock brings ruin and terrified gazing around. Going ahead brings misfortune. If it has not yet touched one's own body but has reached one's neighbor first, there is no blame. One's comrades have something to talk about.
震動恐懼，四顧張望，前進凶。震動未及自身，先及鄰人，無咎。婚媾有議論。極震之時，以鄰為鑑。
Shock terrifies, looking around anxiously, advancing brings misfortune. Shock not yet reaching self, first reaching neighbor, no blame. Marriage has gossip. At extreme shock, learn from neighbor.
