1. The Philosophy of Misdirection

In the high-stakes world of the Liu Min (Vagabond) class, confrontation was not always the best strategy. The Ghost Confusion (迷魂 - Mi Hun) rituals focus on Misdirection —confusing the senses of malicious spirits or human attackers so that they "lose the scent" of the practitioner.

2. Functional Ritual Dynamics

Confusion magic operates by creating a "Spiritual Fog" or an illusory signature that masks the practitioner's true location.

3. Practitioner Use-Cases

These techniques are used when active expulsion (Section 11) is too risky or when the practitioner needs to move through a "spiritually heavy" area undetected.

Dangerous Travel: Using Mi Hun methods when traveling through regions known for "Wild Ghosts" or hostile entities.
Protecting the Altar: During times of spiritual conflict, the Altar itself can be "Confused" to outsiders while remaining clear to the lineage.
Emergency Evasion: Rapidly deploying Flower Characters to "Cover the Tracks" during a physical or spiritual pursuit.

4. Lineage Strategy: The Hidden Path (藏身法)

The most important application of misdirection in Liuren is Zang Shen (藏身 - Hide Body) . This ritual "hides" the practitioner's spiritual presence from malevolent forces, ensuring that they cannot be targeted or tracked.

Righteous Defense: Zang Shen is a defensive measure used when facing superior spiritual numbers or unknown threats.
Altar Shield: The practitioner "withdraws" their essence into the lineage protection, becoming invisible to the spiritual gaze of entities.
Conduct: Like all Liuren magic, the efficacy of Zang Shen is tied to one's Gong De (Merit). An unethical practitioner cannot truly "hide" from the celestial law.

Technical Tip:

Zang Shen is a Yin strategy. It requires a calm heart and a steady presence. If the practitioner is panicked, their "Fear-Qi" will act as a beacon that cuts through the masking ritual. Mastery of Dajiao character cultivation is a prerequisite for high-level misdirection work.
