1. The "Iron Plate" Foundation (鐵板教)
Liuren Fajiao is colloquially known as the "Iron Plate Teaching" (鐵板教) . This refers to the Three Talismans that form the "Iron Shield" around a disciple. The metaphor of the Iron Plate is twofold:
- Fixed Destiny: The unshakeable authority of the Liuren Immortal Master.
- Physical Resilience: The literal "hardening" of the practitioner's resolve and body (Kang Da - 抗打) against external spiritual and physical trauma.
2. The Three Primary Talismans
These talismans are the first to be "entered" into the disciple's body during the Guojiao (Passing the Teaching) ceremony.
| Talisman | Traditional Name | Primary Function |
|---|
| Iron Plate Fu | 鐵板符 | Foundational protection; creates an energetic "shell" around the body. |
| Iron Cow Fu | 鐵牛符 | Internal strength; resilience against internal trauma and spirit possession. |
| Copper Skin Fu | 銅皮符 | External shielding; protection against physical injury (historical 'Anti-Trauma' focus). |
3. Deployment & Materials
While Flower Characters are for rapid use, the Three Talismans are traditionally written on bamboo paper with cinnabar. Their efficacy is derived from the synthesis of:
- Lineage Seal: The application of the "Old Seal" (Lao Fa Yin) to authorize the talisman.
- Consumption: Disciples often ritualistically consume the ashes of these talismans (Chi Fashui) to internalize the power.
- Maoshan Roots: These talismans inherit the Fu Lu Pai (Talismanic School) logic from the Maoshan tradition, refined for Southern folk magic.
Security Note:
Detailed stroke orders for the Three Talismans are restricted to Zhongjiao registered practitioners. Unauthorized copying of these patterns without lineage "empowerment" is considered dead ink and can lead to spiritual instability.
