Mangpai Zuo Gong Rules & Framework (盲派做功法則)

⚡ The Central Axiom

In Mangpai, the only question that matters is: "Does this chart do work?" (此命有無做功？) All rules below serve this single inquiry. A chart that does work efficiently = wealth, power, fame. A chart that does no work = mediocrity. A chart where work is reversed = poverty, imprisonment, disaster.

在盲派中， 唯一重要的問題 是： 「此命有無做功？」 以下所有規則都為這個核心問題服務。做功高效者 = 富貴功名。無功者 = 平庸。反做功者 = 貧困、牢獄、災禍。

Part I: The Four Types of Work (四種做功)

All interactions in a Mangpai chart reduce to exactly four types of "work." Understanding these is non-negotiable.

1. Controlling Work (制功 Zhì Gōng)

Definition: The Host forces destroy, restrain, or suppress the Guest forces through Five Element conquest (克 Kè).

Mechanism: An element in the Host position (Day/Hour) conquers an element in the Guest position (Year/Month).

定義： 主位的力量通過五行相剋去 制服、壓制、或消滅 賓位的力量。

機制： 日時的元素剋年月的元素。

Iron Rule #1: Controlling Work is one-directional

The Host must control the Guest , never the reverse. If Guest controls Host (Year/Month forces destroy Day/Hour forces), this is Anti-Work (反局) — indicating oppression, servitude, or imprisonment.

2. Combining Work (合功 Hé Gōng)

Definition: The Host forces attract, embrace, or bond the Guest forces through Heavenly Stem combinations (天干合) or Earthly Branch combinations (地支六合).

Mechanism: The Self or its allies "hug" Wealth, Officer, or other desirable gods.

定義： 主位的力量通過天干合或地支六合去 吸引、擁抱、結合 賓位的力量。

機制： 日主或其同類「合住」財星、官星或其他吉神。

Iron Rule #2: Combination must "land" on the Host side

When two elements combine, the transformed result must benefit the Host . If a Stem combination transforms into an element that strengthens the Guest instead, the combination is counter-productive — the Host is actually giving away its energy.

3. Storage Work (庫功 Kù Gōng)

Definition: Using the four Tomb/Storage branches — 辰 Chén (Dragon), 戌 Xū (Dog), 丑 Chǒu (Ox), 未 Wèi (Goat) — to trap and accumulate wealth, power, or other resources.

Mechanism: These branches contain "buried" hidden stems. When the tomb is "opened" (by clash or combination), the buried treasure becomes available.

定義： 利用四個墓庫地支 — 辰、戌、丑、未 — 來收藏和積累財富、權力或其他資源。

Iron Rule #3: Tomb must be on the Host side to store

Tomb in Day/Hour = "I have the vault; I store wealth." Tomb in Year/Month = "The market has the vault; I must break in to get it." A tomb on the Guest side requires clash from the Host side to access its contents.

4. Transforming Work (化功 Huà Gōng)

Definition: Using Seal (Resource/印星) elements to absorb, transform, and redirect hostile energies. The attack becomes nutrition.

Mechanism: Seven Killings attacks Self → Seal absorbs Seven Killings energy → Seal feeds Self. The chain transforms destruction into empowerment.

定義： 利用印星去 吸收、轉化、重新引導 敵對能量。攻擊變成了營養。

機制： 七殺攻擊日主 → 印星吸收七殺能量 → 印星生助日主。這個鏈條將破壞力轉化為力量。

Iron Rule #4: Transform chain must be unbroken

If the Seal is destroyed (e.g., Wealth conquers Seal — 財壞印), the transform chain breaks and the Seven Killings attacks the Self directly. This is called "Breaking the Bridge" (壞印) — one of the most dangerous configurations in Mangpai.

Part II: The Efficiency Grading System (做功效率分級)

Not all work is equal. Mangpai grades every chart's work on a scale from highest efficiency (大做功) to anti-work (反局).

⚡ The Leverage Principle (槓桿原理)

The key differentiator between S-Tier and B-Tier is leverage . In Mangpai, a single well-placed god that controls multiple opponents is infinitely more valuable than many gods fighting many opponents. This is why "Food God controlling Seven Killings" (one vs many) outranks "Companions robbing Wealth" (many vs many) even though both are "Controlling Work."

Oral formula: "一星制群殺，百萬軍中取上將首級" — "One star controlling many killings is like taking the general's head from an army of a million."

Part III: Host-Guest Positional Rules (主賓位置法則)

Rule Set A: Directional Flow

Rule Set B: Stem-Branch Interaction

B4	Hidden stems determine real power	The hidden stems inside a branch reveal the true resources available, not the branch label itself.

Rule Set C: Luck Pillar Activation

C3	Luck Pillar breaking work = disaster	If Luck Pillar destroys the key element that maintains work (e.g., removes the controlling Eating God), the chart collapses.
C4	Annual Pillar is a micro-Guest	Same logic as Luck Pillar but for 1-year duration. Used for timing specific events within a Luck Pillar period.

Part IV: Special Configurations (特殊格局)

Mangpai recognizes several specific configurations that override normal analysis rules.

4.1 Follow Configurations (從格 Cóng Gé)

When the Day Master is completely isolated — no roots, no support, no Seal — it "follows" the dominant force.

Critical Rule: In a Follow configuration, the work is done by surrender . The Luck Pillar that strengthens the dominant force = good luck. The Luck Pillar that empowers the Day Master (breaking the Follow) = disaster, because the Day Master tries to fight and gets crushed.

4.2 Multiple Tomb Configurations (多庫格局)

Charts with 2 or more Tomb branches (辰戌丑未) have special properties:

Double Tomb (雙庫): Strong storage capacity — potential for significant wealth accumulation when opened
Triple Tomb (三庫): Extremely powerful — "Three vaults." If properly activated, indicates extraordinary wealth. If all remain closed, indicates frustrating potential.
Quadruple Tomb (四庫): All four tombs present. Classic "self-punishment" (自刑) configuration — all tombs clash each other simultaneously. Can indicate either catastrophic loss or transcendent spiritual attainment.

4.3 The Locked Tomb (鎖庫 Suǒ Kù)

A tomb that cannot be opened by any element in the natal chart or current luck cycle:

Locked Wealth Tomb: "Money in a vault with no key." The person knows they could be wealthy but can't access it. Frustrating near-misses.
Locked Officer Tomb: "Power behind a sealed door." The person has leadership potential but is blocked from authority positions.
Key arriving in Luck Pillar: When the clash element finally arrives in a 10-year period, the tomb opens suddenly — this often manifests as a dramatic life change (e.g., sudden inheritance, unexpected promotion).
